Checking Up On My Goals

So since it’s now less than two months before I head back to classes, I thought I’d do a quick checkup on how I’m progressing toward my summer weightlifting goals.

So in my first post this summer, I decided I wanted to achieve the following:

  • Get my bodyweight up to 175 (I’ve always wanted to break the 170 lbs barrier, but have never quite ate, trained, or slept enough to achieve it)
  • Be able to deadlift 315 lbs for 5 reps
  • Be able to squat 285 lbs for 5 reps
  • Be able to military press 155 lbs for 5 reps
  • Be able to bench 255 lbs for 5 reps

What am I at right now?

Weight gain: Just weighed myself - I’m at 164 lbs.
Deadlift: This is a category I’ve been slacking off on. I’ve recently been making all kinds of excuses with myself to not do these. I’m at 250 for 5 reps. I need to gain on this.
Squats: Busted out 260 for 3 sets for 5 last night.
Press: Been stuck at 140 lbs for a long time now it seems. :/
Bench: Currently trying to beat 235 for 3 x 5.

I definitely have not been working out to my full potential. But seeing how far I have to go to hit my goals makes me realize just how much every workout counts. I only have about 24-27 workouts left before summer is over, gotta make them all count. :)
